We dated for more than 2 years… We just wanted to be sure. Elisabetta went to Germany for the Erasmus program and we both realized how much we were missing each other and we could make it work. After deciding of being together, we had another challenge as a couple: Gio was going to live in Amsterdam and Eli was still finishing the university. We spent more than 2 years apart, seeing each other only every 2/3 months. We had some ups and downs since we needed to adapt to each other’ space (passing from do not seeing each other at all to living together it is not easy!). But we started to feel that we were even more in love than before. Before Corona hit, we went to Budapest for a romantic weekend. It was there that we started to feel the need of being married and making it official in front of family and friends. However, fun fact, there is no official proposal yet! Ci siamo frequentati per due anni prima di ufficializzare. Volevamo essere sicuri. Dopo due anni, Elisabetta partecipò al programma Erasmus e andò a Dusseldorf in Germania. In quel periodo entrambi realizzammo quanto ci mancavamo e che forse si, eravamo fatti l’uno per l’altra. Una volta deciso di essere una coppia, abbiamo subito avuto una sfida di fronte: Gio ricevette un’offerta di lavoro per andare a vivere ad Amsterdam ed Eli stava ancora studiando all’Università di Padova. Abbiamo passato più di due anni separati, potendoci vedere ogni due/tre mesi soltanto. Abbiamo avuto alti e bassi considerando che dovevamo adattarci l’uno all’altro (passare da non vedersi mai a convivere in 60 metri quadri, non è facile!). Tuttavia, dopo i primi tempi, sentivamo di essere ancora più vicini. Prima del Corona, andammo a Budapest per passare un weekend romantico. E’ stato in quel momento che abbiamo iniziato a sentire il bisogno di unirci in matrimonio e creare un momento speciale con le nostre famiglie e amici.
